All Aboard for the Casey Jones Old-Time Music, Art & Quilt Festival September 10th
(Jackson, TN) It's full steam ahead for a fun filled Saturday at the Casey Jones Old-Time Music, Art & Quilt Festival September 10th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The festival is sponsored by the Jackson Area Plectral Society and Casey Jones Village. This year activities will again be held in "downtown" Casey Jones Village with stage performances on Saturday in the beautiful theater inside Casey Jones Museum, local art with the Art in the Village gallery and a quilt show highlighting local quilters designs.
(Jackson, TN) It's full steam ahead for a fun filled Saturday at the Casey Jones Old-Time Music, Art & Quilt Festival September 10th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The festival is sponsored by the Jackson Area Plectral Society and Casey Jones Village. This year activities will again be held in "downtown" Casey Jones Village with stage performances on Saturday in the beautiful theater inside Casey Jones Museum, local art with the Art in the Village gallery and a quilt show highlighting local quilters designs.
Festival admission is $5.00 and includes a tour of the historic Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum. Those wishing to see the bands perform can purchase a ticket at Casey Jones Museum and those wishing to view the quilt show can begin at Grace Bible Fellowship located next to the Museum. There will be art activities at Art in the Village and jamming or shade tree pickin' with the Plectral Society throughout the day.
The festival is sponsored by the Jackson Area Plectral Society, a non-profit 501 C-3 organization made up of musicians and supporters dedicated to the promotion and preservation of traditional old-time string music. Club president is Don Horne. Club members are actively involved in volunteer and charity work all over West Tennessee and attend and play in music festivals throughout the region.
