Songwriter's Depot July 24th Show

To Feature Three Top Nashville Singer/Songwriters

(Jackson, TN) Songwriter's Depot boasts one of its biggest lineups to date for the next show at the Old Country Store Thursday evening, July 24th.

Singer/songwriters on the bill this month are some of Nashville's finest including Jason Matthews, Tim Johnson and Kerry Kurt Phillips. Jason is best known as the writer of Billy Currington's number one hit "Must Be Doin Somethin Right, "Break Down Here", "Country Man" and many more. He recently enjoyed his first hit as a solo artist "That's What Mama's Do".

Tim Johnson wrote "I Let Her Lie" for Daryle Singletary and co-wrote "Things That Never Cross A Man's Mind" for Kellie Pickler. He has enjoyed over 100 major label cuts as a songwriter.

Kerry Kurt's catalog of over 600 songs has garnered four #1 singles as surveyed by Billboard and Radio And Records. He has been awarded 12 gold records and 17 platinum albums accounting for certified sales of over 30 million records. He has written for such country stars as George Jones, Joe Diffee and Tim McGraw. His most recent hits include "That's Just Jessie" sung by Kevin Denney, Tammy Cochran's "Life Happened", Craig Morgan's "Almost Home", the Tracy Byrd single "Drinkin' Bone", Tim McGraw's recent release "Do You Want Fries With That" and George Strait's #1 Single "She Let Herself Go".

You can always count on hearing great music of all kinds each month at the Old Country Store!

Every Thursday night from April to October our friends with the Jackson Area Plectral Society come to the Village for some fun pickin' and grinnin' around the front porch. It's a wonderful way to spend time with family and friends. Make a night of it with a delicious supper at the Store then enjoy an evening of great old-time bluegrass, gospel and mountain music. Begins at 6:30 pm. Restaurant closes at 9 pm. Lawn chairs welcome.

Will Tell is scheduled to appear in August 1st in the Barnside Room! This multi-talented band of young people from the West Tennessee area will astound you with their musical abilities. Here's what's happening in June. Y'all come!:

Every Thursday night bluegrass music is in the air on and around the front porch of the Old Country Store with the Jackson Area Plectral Society Club Jam. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a relaxing evening of old-time bluegrass and gospel music beginning at 6:30 pm. Restaurant open until 9 pm. Save the Date: Mark your calendars for September 12th and 13th for the annual Casey Jones Old-Time Bluegrass Festival at the Casey Jones Amphitheatre.

First and third Saturdays Jimmy Stephenson and the Music Highway Band perform in the Barnside Room starting at 6:30 pm. www.musichighwayband.com

We welcome back Ken Mallard during the supper hour June 28th in the Barnside Room at the Old Country Store.

The Barbershop Chorus sings every month on the 3rd Tuesday. Enjoy old fashioned favorites from 6:30 to 7 pm in our authentically recreated 1890's Ice Cream Parlor at the Old Country Store. For booking information for your club or group please contact Larry Lewis at 731.234.0360.

Songwriter's Depot tells the story behind the song of country music's greatest hits with shows at the Old Country Store every 4th Thursday from January to October. The next show will be July 24th. Due to scheduling conflicts we are rescheduling the June show. Plans are for it to be added back into the schedule in early December for our 10 shows in the 2008 season. We will keep you posted on the December date. Produced and booked by Shane Connor with WYN 106.9, it's a truly wonderful evening of music in the round with Nashville's finest singer/songwriters. Kudos to Songwriter's Depot alum Rory Lee Feek who has been with us twice. He and his beautiful wife, Joey, were in the top 3 on CMT's "Can You Duet". Congratulations!

(Jackson, TN) Get ready for another exciting songwriters night in Jackson Thursday, May 22nd for Songwriter’s Depot live from the Old Country Store in Casey Jones Village. Produced by Shane Connor with WYN 106.9, the show starts at 7 pm and dinner begins at 6 pm.

This month's show features a line-up new to the Songwriter's Depot stage and includes:

KEVIN DENNEY: Kevin is best known for his hits "That's Just Jesse" and "Cadillac Tears".

JAMIE TEACHNOR: Wrote "How Do You Get That Lonely" for Blaine Larson plus songs by Gretchen Wilson & Montgomery Gentry.

BRANDON KINNEY: He has been called "Country Music with a Smile" and a modern day Roger Miller with his comedic songs. Also has cuts by Randy Travis, Willie Nelson, Emerson Drive, Jeff Bates and many more.

Pack up your lawn chairs now that the weather is perfect for bluegrass music under the stars every Thursday evening with the Jackson Area Plectral Society club jam. It's so relaxing and fun. This is a free event and held outside on the Old Country Store front porch and around the Village green beginning around 6:30 pm every Thursday from April to October. Y'all come!

Hit Writer’s Dishing up Country Music at Songwriter's Depot!

(Jackson, TN) Cracklin cornbread isn't the only thing served up on the menu at Brooks Shaw's Old Country Store. On the 4th Thursday of the month, Songwriter's Depot features Nashville's finest singer/songwriter's performing live bringing you the story behind the song of some of country music's greatest hits.

Produced by Shane Connor of WYN 106.9, the next show is Thursday, April 24^th at 7 pm with Dinner at 6 pm. The April show features Jason Matthews along with Phillip and Amber Leigh White. Matthews was named the Music Row Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year in 2006. The Jackson Area Plectral Society is now back in the Village for the 2008 Season! Join us each Thursday night for live bluegrass music under the stars. Over 75 members of the Jackson Area Plectral Society come jam around the front porch of the Old Country Store beginning at 6:30 pm until. Bring your lawn chairs and join in the fun! You will absolutely love it!

Casey Jones Village On Track with Musical Menu!

Homemade cracklin' cornbread isn't the only thing served up on the menu at Brooks Shaw's Old Country Store in Casey Jones Village.

Every week at Casey Jones Village you can find live music to fit your tastes with the many different events held on a regular basis at the Memphis I-40 favorite. Here is a sampling:

Every third Tuesday the Casey Jones Barbershop Chorus croons out old fashioned favorites from 6:30 to 7 pm in the 1890's Ice Cream Parlor at the Old Country Store. For booking information please contact Larry Lewis at 731.234.0360.

Every Thursday night from April to October, bring the lawn chairs for music on the grounds under the stars with our friends from the Jackson Area Plectral Society. This group of 50 to 75 musicians bring their instruments and play old-time music on the front porch. The music starts at 6:30 pm and goes until the last instrument is packed up for the night. There is nothing quite like it between the Ozarks and the Smokies. Save the date for the annual fall bluegrass festival at the Casey Jones Village Amphitheatre September 12th and 13th!

Each quarter the sounds of Southern Gospel can be heard at the Gospel Supper Club held on the Back Porch stage at the Old Country Store. 2008 dates include June 5th, September 4th and December 5th at 6 pm. Jimmy Stephenson and the Music Highway Band perform Rock-a-billy music live in the Barnside Room the first and third Saturday of the month.

And last, but not least at Casey Jones Village, is the Songwriter's Depot in the Old Country Store restaurant on the Back Porch stage. Each month features guest singer-songwriters from Nashville who share the story behind country music's greatest hits in an acoustic concert. Dinner seating begins at 6 pm and the show at 7 pm. An even larger venue is the Casey Jones Amphitheatre located behind Brooks Shaw's Old Country Store. Located in a beautiful park-like setting, it offers seating for 700 under cover and 2,500 on the grounds. It is the site of concerts, company picnics, and more.
